I wanted to take my parents somewhere that I thought they would not soon forget and Paris came to mind. It's beautiful and easy to get to from Germany. We decided that since the girls have already been to Paris, that we would leave them at home with Greg while my parents and I enjoyed a couple of days together. It was my first European trip without the kids!
| Just arrived! In the Paris train station. |
| First stop was Notre Dame which was not too far from our hotel. |
| Next, on to the hop-on, hop-off bus tour! Despite the cool temps, we opted for a seat on top for the better views! |
| Cruising by the Arc de Triumph. |
| And then by the Eiffel Tower. |
| My first glimpse of Paris at night. So pretty!! |
| Second day, we hit the Louvre!! |
| Mom checks out some of the 38,000+ works of art on display there. |
| Welcome to Napoleon's apartment! This place was OVER THE TOP! |
| Dinner for 50 of your closest friends! |
| Amazing displays. This was from Iran. |
| This is as close as we got to the Mona Lisa. Did not desire to fight that crowd. |
| Outside the Louvre. |
| The prettiest site in all of Paris!! |
| Dad treated us to a night at the Moulin Rouge! |
| Day #3. Versailles!! |
| Amazing. |
| The Hall of Mirrors. |
| Looking out over the gardens which stretch as far as the eye can see. |
| The backyard of Versailles. Well, a small piece of it anyway! |
| Out at one of the "small" palaces, Trianon, which lies in the far corner of the Versailles grounds. Yes, a palace retreat from their palace! |
| Underneath Petite Trianon (yes, another "small" palace)! |
| Mom and Dad outside Petite Trianon. |
| In a small village that Marie Antionette built on the Versailles grounds. This is "my" house! |
| Welcome to Mom's cottage! |
| The BEST way to get around the gardens of Versailles!! |
| Another shot of the back of Versailles. |
| A shot outside the Golden Gates of Versailles before we head back to Germany. |
