Legoland Deutschland

As a reward for near perfect report cards this year, we took the girls to celebrate at LEGOLAND Deutschland!  As it turned out, this would be our second to last trip in Germany.  We are glad that we made it a good one!  We spent two full days in the park and the entire family had a great time!  The girls wanted to come back for another day, but Mommy and Daddy were too tired!

Let's get the fun started!!  Since the German kids were still in school, we practically had the entire park to ourselves!

Taryn poses with a Lego family.

Lego teacups.

An awesome water ride!

A cool little aquarium in the park.

The park had a good playground too!

OMG!!  Are these water fountains in Germany???  Took us two years to find them!

This little theater was called "Affe Theater" which translates to "Monkey Theater".  We thought we were going to see a show with monkeys, but got this magician instead!

A cool pirate area of the park.

Leena loved this "ride".  You had to pull yourself up and then you could ride down.

Taryn and I give it a shot.

Greg admires Lego Soccer stars.

You can't come to LEGOLAND and not play with Legos!

The kids each built their own Lego car.

And then raced them down this track.

Pedaling around above the park.

Cruising around the park.

Peek-a-boo.

Whoo Hoo!!   Riding a "warm-up" coaster.

Now for the real thing!  The dragon coaster!  It turned out to be the favorite ride.... by far!

There they go!

Exiting the ride.

Cool-down after 3 times straight on the dragon coaster!

Driving track for 3-6 year olds.  The track for older kids required an admission price and included a 3 hour driving school!

Lego Neuschwanstein Castle.

Lego airport.

Lego Rathaus in Berlin.

Lego Venice.

Lego St. Marks Square.

Lego Berlin Cathedral.

Lego Brandenburger Tor.

Lego Frankfurt.

Lego FC Bayern Munchen.

I usually don't take pictures of food, but I could not resist tonight.  This is what Greg ordered.  The entire plate was inside a plate full of gelatin.

Day 2!  Let's go!!

Taryn gets a hug as we walk into the park.

Riding a few things that we didn't get to yesterday.  Leena was NOT excited about this one!

Cute little boat ride.  The girls LOVED this one!  We rode it about 6 times over the course of the day.

After trying all day yesterday, Greg finally got Leena to agree to ride this ride!

I was terrified watching it from the ground!

Leena front left and Greg is sideways on the right.

Later that afternoon, Taryn wanted to do it!!!  Here she is in the middle of the picture.  I eventually rode it too!

A lego train ride around the park.

Fun with a musical water fountain.

Another round on the "test track".

And again....

Lego Lucerne, Switzerland.

AGAIN on the dragon coaster!!  They rode this at least 8 times!

There they go.... AGAIN!

Oh yeah!  BEST ride in the park!  Two thumbs up (and all toes too)!

This is a "baby" coaster!  Look - no hands!

View of the park from the top of an observation tower.

Cooling off.

German restrooms.

Outside another favorite ride - the brand new Temple X-pedition which was an interactive treasure hunt game with laser guns.

Row, row, row your boat.  Leena was too big for this ride.
